We are home!

Taurus is a winter constellation, it has been visible in the morning sky with Venus. The days are beginning to get shorter and the nights a little longer. The Sun reached the end of its upward climb last month, and sunsets have been moving south on the horizon. The Sun will continue its southbound journey until the winter solstice. Our planet revolves around the Sun, and the Sun appears to move against the background of different constellations in space. The imaginary path that marks the Sun’s yearly journey through space is called the ecliptic. The ecliptic, or path of the Sun, passes through the 12 constellations of the zodiac. In late May and early June the sun was in the constellation of Taurus. The Sun has moved into Cancer, slowing Taurus to escape the obliterating light of our star for view in our star. As you can see we are almost home to the Pleiades too!
